Dr Ifeoma E. Nwafor, FCArb, FICIArb is the Principal Partner and Lead Consultant at IEN LEGAL ASSOCIATES where she heads the international arbitration and cyber law departments of the firm. She provides arbitration, cyber/IT advisory services to a myriad of clients in various sectors. Dr Nwafor is also a lecturer in Law at Godfrey Okoye University, Nigeria and an EU Eramus+ Scholar TH Köln, Germany.

Dr Nwafor holds a PhD in Cyber/IT Law from the University of Nigeria, where she graduated with distinction. She has written and continues to write extensively in the cyber field and has authored several peer-reviewed publications in reputable international journals. Her latest book is titled Cybercrime and the Law: Issues and Developments in Nigeria.

She is a member of several regional and international organisations and committees, including the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), African Women in Cyber Professional Group, Governing Council of the Digital Rights Lawyer’s Initiative, the African Women in Security Network and the Cyber Security Experts Association of Nigeria. She was a Finalist Women in Cybersecurity Awards Africa 2020 (Woman Data Privacy and Law Professional of the Year Category).

Dr Nwafor is a Fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Chartered Arbitrators (NICArb) and emerged as the overall best Candidate and the Winner of the Aare Afe Babalola Price in the 2017 NICArb Fellowship Training. She is also a Fellow of the Institute of Construction Industry Arbitrators and; a Member of Arbitral Women, International Chamber of Commerce, Arbitration and ADR Commission, Nigeria. She is also an Editorial Board Member of the Journal of Commercial Law (Commercial Law Development Services Ltd) and the International Journal of Construction and Arbitration.
